To arrive at this figure, they looked at median prices for single-family homes. So the data are quite recent. Still, this report does offer some insight into the kind of salary a person might need to afford a home in the Seattle metro area.

With a median home price of around $492,151 as of August 2024, Tacoma is another more affordable option for those who want to live in the Seattle area.
